The elections for the 2023 General Student Council (GSC) of CNU will be held online on Dec. 6. The Central Election Management Committee (CEMC) announced on November 5 that it will conduct the election in a non-contact way and the procedures for holding the election will be carried out in accordance with the rules set out. The distribution of documents for candidate registration is between Nov. 7 and 11, and the deadline for candidate registration is 12 p.m. on Nov. 18. If there are candidates for the GSC election, they will start the election campaign around campus from Nov. 21 to Dec. 5. During the interview with the Tribune on Nov. 8, CEMC Chairperson An Ju-yeon (Junior, Dept. of Physics Education) encouraged students to vote. “Please cast your precious vote on election day. I hope the election will be completed successfully and not canceled due to a lack of votes. I respect and thank all the candidates running for a better community at the university since they are CNUians who are interested in student autonomy. We will try to ensure that the election is completed safely and fairly.” Ha Yu-min (Freshman, Dept. of English Language and Literature) said, “I hope we have the GSC in 2023. I think we need a student organization that works for CNU students and the university.” There was no the GSC over the past two years as there was no candidate registered for the GSC.
