CNU Appointed a New Foreign Professor

Chonnam National University (CNU) apChonnam National University (CNU) appointed the 10th foreign faculty professor on August 11th. He is Robert David Grotjohn, the new professor in the Dept. of English Language and Literature. He graduated from Minnesota University in the United States and received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees at Wisconsin University campus in Madison. Before he came to South Korea, he was a professor of Wittenberg and Mary Baldwin University in the United States for 20 years. This is his second time teaching at CNU he taught English conversation and composition to sophomore students from 1981 to 1984; last year, as a Fulbright lecturer, he taught students at Chonbuk National University. He said, “I feel that returning to CNU is a sort of homecoming. I look forward to getting to know more and more students and renewing my acquaintance with CNU and Gwangju.” To strengthen CNU’s international competitiveness in the global world, CNU has appointed several foreign professors since last March including Marcin Edmund Niesiolowski (Department of Music), Nisizawa Doyohico (College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences), Lee Kyung-sook (Self-designed Interdisciplinary Studies), and Yasuyuki Arakane (Division of Plant Biotechnology), John Gerard Fisher (School of Material Science and Engineering).
