CNU held its 2023 spring commencement ceremony on Feb. 26. A total of 4,060 graduates were awarded their degrees, including 3,132 bachelor’s, 775 master’s, and 151 doctorate degrees. President Jung Sungtaek gave congratulatory messages at the ceremony and emphasized, “Even if you have a wing, you cannot fly if you stay still. After leaving the nest-like CNU, fly powerfully towards society.” The General Student Council held many events, such as making a personal certificate of award for the graduates and installing a photo booth around Bongji. One of the graduates, Jo Yu-jin (Graduate, Dept. of Biology Education), said, “After entering CNU with fellow students, four years have already passed, and we have all become mature enough to graduate. I truly hope everyone has a bright future.” After gathering students’ opinions about the design of the graduation gown and cap last year, they were newly designed for this commencement ceremony. Graduating students took pictures wearing the newly designed green gown and cap all over the campus, especially around Bongji and Minjumaru.
