The Office of Education Innovation hosted an extracurricular program, "Tasting Liberal Arts Subject Class," four times at the Jilnli Building from Nov. 15 to 29. Chonnam National University has been conducting this project each semester since the second semester of 2022. The goal of this class series is to provide opportunities for students who have missed out on liberal arts subject classes due to failing to sign up or a lack of credits, enabling them to experience the liberal arts subjects. Additionally, it aims to promote the liberal arts subject curriculum to students who are actual education consumers. To enroll in these classes, students have to sign up through the online platform “Seongjangmaru” (https://grow.jnu.ac.kr).

The subjects for this semester were "Traveling to the Yeosu Sea," "Seeing the World with Language,” “Taking Care of Pet Plants,” and “Travel and History.” In the “Traveling to the Yeosu Sea” class, students were informed that they would experience and learn about marine tourism and leisure based on the tourism industry linked to the sea if they signed up for the class formally. The “Seeing the World with Language” class taught them how they should use language in an era of declining literacy levels. The “Taking Care of Pet Plants” class explained the system of plants and shared interesting stories about plants. The “Travel and History” class taught the vibrancy of Islam and the advancement of geography. Seon Hyo-gyeong (Sophomore, School of Chemical Engineering) said, “I am interested in plants, so I signed up to experience the “Taking Care of Pet Plants” class.. It was gratifying to hear many stories about plants during the class.”
