A number of international and Korean students enjoyed cultural exchange activities and food from different countries around the Yongbong Building at the event to celebrate the 2023 CNU International Day on Nov. 10. As part of the university’s ongoing efforts to be more inclusive of students from different countries, the festival consisted of four types of booths: world food booths, craft booths, global game booths, and event booths. Students from 11 countries, including Italy, Japan, Peru, and France, participated in the food and craft booths.

Many students were able to do activities such as making kimchijeon (kimchi pancake) and playing the classic game of Limbo. A photo booth and a face painting booth were also provided, along with a Korean name-creating experience for international students. Meyner Sopia Giulia (Exchange Student, Dept. of Design, United States) said, “The Indonesian food was so delicious. It was interesting to experience various foreign cultures.”

Staff Member Maciek Machowski (Exchange Student, Dept. of Business Administration, Poland) said, “While preparing for the International Day event, communicating with other students was a little difficult because I am not fluent in Korean. But it was good to interact with students from different countries.” The Office of International Affairs organized the event in collaboration with the CNU International Student Supporters.
