The National Union for the Fulfillment of the Upright Science and Technology Society ("Gwasilyeon" in Korean abbreviation) in the Honam region held the second forum at Cosmos Hall, located in the College of Engineering 4 building at Chonnam National University (CNU), on October 13. The union members participated in the forum to discuss the “green future” and the need to reduce greenhouse gases. CNU Gwasilyeon President Jeong Jong-il took on the role of forum moderator, and professors from CNU and Mokpo National University took part in the forum as panels in the discussion regarding the climate change issue.

After a brief welcome speech, three professors—Kim Sun-jae (Dept. of Marine Bio Food Science), Byeon Jae-won (Dept. of Petrochemical Materials Engineering), and Hwang Seon-jin (Dept. of Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering, Kyung Hee University)—gave a presentation about food planning, bio-refinery, and microalgae. Following the topic presentations, a panel debated about diverse subjects, including viruses and diseases. In addition to the announcements of the professors, An Ju-yeon, an undergraduate student from CNU, introduced the CNU Gwasilyeon club activities that students could follow on a daily basis.
