The CNU International Students Supporters (CIS) hosted a Chuseok celebration event on September 27 at the G&R Hub seminar room. Various traditional games were provided for international and Korean students to enjoy, such as “Tuho” (a game where players aim to throw arrows into a pot), “Ttakjichigi” (a game where players try to flip each other’s “Ttakji” by slapping it on the ground), and “Jegichagi” (a game similar to Hacky Sack, where players kick a “Jegi” as many times as they can without it touching the ground).
The students could also participate in making “sanjeok” (traditional meat and vegetable skewers) and bracelets, or try on “hanbok” (traditional Korean clothing). Event participant Assoumou Yao El Elyon Jean Levi (Global Korea Scholarship Student, Côte d'Ivoire) said, “I had never heard of Chuseok before this event, so I had a lot of fun playing different games.” Akandwanaho Phillimon (Global Korea Scholarship Student, Uganda) said, “The Tuho game was my favorite. I broke the record for the most arrows in the pot."
