Chonnam National University conducted its second commencement ceremony for the Class of 2022 on August 25. A total of 1,654 graduates were awarded their degrees, including 1,066 bachelor’s, 460 master's, and 128 doctorate degrees this day. President Jung Sungtaek offered congratulatory remarks at the ceremony and also emphasized, “You might be frustrated along the way, but no frustration is in vain, as it will pave the way for another challenge. Congratulate your graduation, and cheer you on your new departure.” The university held a metaverse-based graduation ceremony for graduates on its metaverse platform. Graduates and their families all gathered to celebrate the day and take commemoration photos. One of the graduates, Woo Soo-yeon (Graduate Alumnae, Faculty of Economics) said, “I feel really sad that four years went by so quickly. I hope my juniors accomplish various achievements and build countless memories on campus. I hope to see all of you out of school, I’ll be waiting!”
