전남대서 제28회 모의유엔회의 개막
The 28th National Model United Nations Conference of the Republic of Korea (NMUN-ROK) was held from July 4 to 7 at Chonnam National University (CNU). The Model UN Conferences are simulated, student-level UN conferences with the aim of a better understanding of international issues and experience in global cooperation. Roughly 250 students from 28 institutions around the nation were invited to CNU to attend or compete in the conference. This year’s topics were “Climate Change and International Peace and Security,” “International Cooperation on Eliminating Piracy,” and “UN’s Role in Improving Human Rights in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” and "The Strategies to Reinforce UN Peackeeping Operations for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding." With its opening ceremony and first general assembly held on July 4, the participants of NMUN-ROK partook in formal and informal committee meetings on July 5 and 6, and wrapped up the conference with a second general assembly on July 7.
