The number of people called “diggers” who are collecting particularly rare or hard-to-find things is increasing regardless of their age. This phenomenon might be considered both a hobby and an investment that is frequently related to a love of history, nostalgia, and authenticity. The term "digging momentum" refers to this trend of those people digging deep into their specific collection to enjoy moments of indulgence and pleasure.

       In the context of musical discovery, it refers to the feeling of being on a roll, where one discovery leads to another and another, building a sense of momentum and excitement around the search for new music. The contemporary atmosphere of social media makes this tendency of some people a more sophisticated kind of immersion behavior searching through different sources to find rare or valuable items related to a particular interest or passion. Collection digging is one of the most prominent types of overindulgences such as conceptual and relational diggings.
 

       Vintage clothing and items, for example, are extremely popular among collectors or fans owing to their distinctive designs and high-quality materials. While a few enthusiasts specialize in a specific designer or era, others prefer to collect a diverse range of things. Sneaker collecting has also become a big business in recent years, with many people willing to pay hundreds of dollars for rare or limited-edition footwear. Aside from these objects, some diggers are interested in a wide range of art forms, including prints, paintings, and sculptures. Individuals with passion are not only engaged in the act of obtaining objects to collect, but they are also keen on showing them off on social media in an appealing way to others who may not be familiar with the trend.

       Collecting is also about the experience they embody, and the revolving door fan is representative of people who like expanding their collection of experiences, according to the book 2023 Consumer Trend Insights.
