A Chuseok event took place at the Global Lounge at the G&R Hub on September 7. The event organized by the Office of International Affairs and CNU International student Supporters (CIS) aimed to give international students an opportunity to experience one of Korea’s biggest holidays. With Chuseok just around the corner, it included traditional games, such as ddakjichigi and jegichagi, and Chuseok-related activities for participants to learn Korean Chuseok etiquette.

After participating in the event, the students were encouraged to write down a word of thanks to their friends or family, which was later pinned to a board. CIS member Choi Ye-eun (Sophomore, Dept. of Cultural Anthropology and Archaeology) said, "I was pleasantly surprised by the number of international students that showed up to the event. We hosted this event in hopes of the international students being able to get a taste of Chuseok-related traditional culture, and I am so glad that they are having a good time." Zerrin Akpinar (Junior, Dept. of Korean Language and Literature), who joined the event, said, "The people in charge were very welcoming which made it easier to participate in the event and to have fun even if it was only for a short time."
