Chonnam National University (CNU) held its 2022 (70th) second commencement ceremony on August 26 and granted a total of 1,733 graduates with degrees, including 1,181 bachelor’s degrees, 413 master's degrees, and 139 doctorate degrees. Almost three years after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, this ceremony took place in-person at the University Auditorium, Minjumaru. CNU President Jung Sungtaek delivered a congratulatory message, “I hope you will always live as confident and free CNUians anytime, anywhere. To do this, you must be sincere, righteous, and courageous. If you do not do anything, nothing can be achieved. Have a posture to challenge newness.” The graduates, along with their families and relatives, took commemorative photos by exchanging bouquets of flowers throughout the campus of the university. Kurbonova Khusnigul (Graduate, Dept. of English Language and Literature) said, “I am happy and proud to graduate. Studying abroad without family was lonely and difficult. But I think it was a brave thing to do to study abroad on my own. I want to cheer for other students from abroad like me. And I have a new challenge of doing a master's course. I'm a little worried, but I'll challenge myself to do it."
