The 19th Faculy Council of CNU, officially launched last September, has been undertaking its duties as one of the consultant bodies of the university. It discussed and made decision on listed on its agendas for consideration in two regular meetings held on Sept. 16 and Oct. 14. The council is the deliberative organization of the university consisting of 34 board members of the Faculty Association and three deans of Academic Affairs, Planning and Coordination, and Research Affairs. The 41st Faculty Association was formed through voting in which 825 faculty members participated on Aug. 10. Han Eun-mi (Professor, School of Chemical Engineering), who is the chair of both faculty bodies, said, “I will make efforts to pursue the development of the university and to strengthen cooperation among institutions by fulfilling not only my duties as a professor, but also the duties for the region and the nation.” The council has duties and authorities to deliberate main subjects of university governance and management, including the management of institutes, budget and closing accounts, and the welfare of the university.
