전남대 대강당 '민주마루' 개관
CNU invited the Gwangju Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the reopening of Chonnam National University (CNU) Auditorium, Minjumaru, on May 27, 2016. More than 1000 people, including Gwangju citizens, alumni, faculties and students of the university visited the auditorium and celebrated. The concert began with ”Academic Festival Overture” by the orchestra, followed by the performance of CNU professors and CNU Chorus. After the performance, about 200 people including CNU president, faculties, and citizens enjoyed a celebration party in the reception hall on the 4th floor of the auditorium. At the party, President Jee Byung-moon stated, “Minjumaru becomes a new landmark of CNU and a representative arts and culture space for Gwangju. Minjumaru is expected to play a key role in improving the status of Gwangju as a cultural city.” The auditorium will be used as the multipurpose performing arts center for CNUians and Gwangju citizens.
