총선 결과와 3당 체제

The results of the 2016 general election are very interesting and shocking. The Minju Party got the largest number of seats beating the ruling Saenuri Party. Ahn Cheol-soo’s Peoples Party was unexpectedly supported and it changed the political system of South Korea into a three-party system. I had several thoughts about the results. First, there is no wonder that the Saenuri Party lost its majority in the National Assembly. The 19th National Assembly has disappointed people many times such as with the Sewol ferry disaster, severe unemployment rates and labor law revisions. It is understandable people started to want the new National Assembly to reflect public opinions. The 20th National Assembly made up of three parties should have checks and balances between parties and work together to make a better society. The most important thing is for all politicians to realize the will of the people reflected in the election outcome.
