Chonnam Naional University’s Faculty Council held a public hearing to discuss a presidential election system for the university and a plan to reinforce the status of the faculty council in Yongbong Hall, Headquarters building at 2 p.m. on March 9. This hearing was progressed in two parts: In the first part, Professor Yeom Min-ho presented his view about a direct election system and Professor Min Byeong-ro presented his opinion about an indirect election system. In the second part, three professors, Kim Tae-hoon, Kim Jae-kwan and Han Eun-mi, made their statements about a dean election and a way to vitalize the faculty council. In the public hearing, the faculty council listened to the voices of many different parties and announced that the final conclusion will be fixed as the 20th CNU President Election System through the discussion of the faculty council. The result of the hearing will be posted on the university website in a week.
