I am so glad to have a chance to write down my opinion about the Chonnam Tribune. I have been subscribing to the magazine for this summer vacation. I want to talk about something so it could be a better magazine.
The last 334th issue served up a bunch of informative and interesting articles. I could enjoy all of the articles because of the captivating topics it dealt with and well-organized structure of the magazine. To be specific, the cover story on 'social dining' was the most interesting. It introduced the new social trend that most students might have not heard about. Also, this issue handled some social problems. Among those, the article about 'state violence' was quite impressive. It gave me a chance to think about the 'real' role of the authority of the state seriously.
There are, however, two further considerations. Firstly, it lacks factors to grab the readers' interest. The magazine contents were great but it was quite the same as other magazines. It did not have any special points compared to others. As it is a campus magazine, I believe it would attract the readers' attention if it contains contents which students are interested in. Also, Tribune members need to promote their magazine more. No matter how the magazine shows great contents, it is useless if potential readers do not know that it exists. In a nutshell, the Chonnam Tribune has its own advantages and disadvantages, but the advantages of the magazine far outweigh the disadvantages. If it supplements its weaknesses, it would be just the icing on the cake. Thanks all for this great campus magazine.
