On May 15^th, Chonnam National University (CNU)’s honored some of its stellar faculty members at a recognition ceremony held at the Yongbong Hall. The Education Excellence Award was given to professors and faculty members who have shown great excellence in teaching and have received high student satisfaction ratings for the past year, 2012. This year 19 professors are awarded this prize but only 14 professors attended because of conflicting schedules. Professors from various departments of the College of Business Administration, College of Engineering, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Education, College of Social Sciences, College of Humanities and the College of Natural Science were given recognition. CNU President Jee Byung-moon said "Not only research but education is also important. We need more interest in education and I'll do my best as the president to increase this capability of the university. With this, I plan to increase the number of professors to be prized by 10 percent next year until next year where the valuation system will be based on the diversity standard." The prize includes a medal, certificate and prize money. This is in line of the celebration of the annual Teacher’s Day.
