Kim Young-seong presented the lecture about earthquake and fault.

On November 2, 2012, a Science lecture on "Active Fault and Earthquake Hazards" was presented in College of National Science Building 3, Room 101 by professor Kim Young-seong (Pukyong National University, Dept. of Earth and Environmental Sciences). The lecture focused on detection and damages of Active Fault. Professor Kim said, “To protect buildings and to prepare for earthquake, it is important to know about Active Fault.” Photos of actual Active Fault and latest Earthquake sites were showed during the lecture. One of the audience, junior of geology department said, “Although Active Fault is not an orogenic belt area, it is impressive that earthquake can be occurred and damage nature.” At the end of the lecture, Professor Kim said, “Geologists should make decisions to minimize damages from earthquakesand that is what you have to do.” Focus on science is serial lecture of math, physics, chemistry, biology and earth science.
