Alumna Gives Back to CNU

     Soprano Lee Seung-hee, alumna of Chonnam National University (CNU), gives back to the university through a homecoming recital held at the Gwangju Performing Arts Center last September 25, 2012. Lee, an alumna from the Department of Music, College of Fine Arts, has been actively participating in different performances in the United States after her debut in the opera La Boheme together with the esteemed Martina Arroyo Foundation, a renowned organization for opera performance. Having various experiences in performing arts, she was able to get praise for her work from New York Times, the David Adams Art Song Competition where she won 3rd place amongst others. This fall, she is scheduled to do a performance together with the Korea Music Foundation and the Korea Cultural Center in New York. Lee, after graduating from CNU, received her graduate and post graduate degrees in the Manhattan School of Music and the State University of New York at Stony Brook respectively. She is scheduled to have series of concerts in Korea and in the United States and is planning to teach music when she finally settles back in Korea. In an interview with Chonnam Tribune, she shares her story and gives an advice to her juniors at CNU. “Be patient and enjoy!” Lee wishes all the best for all CNU students.
    The homecoming recital of Soprano Lee Seung-heee was made possible as well through the efforts of the CNU Alumni Association in New York.
