2012 German Educational Fair at CNU on April 6
The 2012 German Educational Fair, hosted by Department of German Language and Literature and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Chonnam National University (CNU)’s was held last April 6th. The fair and special event to celebrate German Day at CNU proceeded from 10 a.m. to 5 o’clock p.m. on the first floor of the University Administration Building of CNU. Many students majoring in German Language and Literature and students who have interests in studying abroad participated in the event. The theme of the fair was ”Looking Back: EU and Germany”. ‘EU’ has two overlapping meanings: Reason in Korean and European Union.  At the ceremony, Seidt Hans-Ulrich, German Ambassador to the South Korea, was conferred an honorary doctorate of philosophy. Park Yu-ra (Sophomore, Dept. of German Language and Literature) said, “As my major is German Language and Literature, I can get more specific information about the German language as an extracurricular activity. I am planning to participate in an exchange program to Germany over the short haul as the German Day helped me to make my decision. I hope that these opportunities expand.”
