New Courses at CNU

 Chonnam National University launched the Division of Self-designed Interdisciplinary Studies (DSIS) in 2010. Students enrolled in the DSIS are divided into Division of General Studies track and Self-designed Interdisciplinary Studies track. Students are selected by 4 different types of entrance exams. Especially the university operates a special educational program for students of the Self-designed Interdisciplinary track entering through the screening of an Admission officer and they will be President Honor Students. In addition, freshmen should take 4 core culture studies. They ought to earn credits respectively from 4 categories as follows: language and literature, history and philosophy, understanding social science, understanding nature. Originally, it was allowed that students take 3 core culture studies out of 4 categories. English class required for the graduation has changed as well. The compulsory English class is divided into living English 1 and living English 2.
