Yesterday, the 2010 General Student Council (GSC) election was held, but it was decided to operate extended voting in one day time or two day times because of a light poll of about 45%, not sufficient rate approving of ballot counting. It has to be delayed until over more than half of voters to be approved. Although GSC members encouraged students’ vote in every college buildings and all around campus by sending text message or making address using a mike, the response of the voters was little interested in it like chilling weather. The delayed term for election was occurred in the last 2009 GSC election in the first day 49% and the second day 52.3%. Especially because today most classes are canceled by an examinee interview for the 2010 freshmen entrance, it is expected that there will be some hardship operation vote today.
On Yeosu campus, there was GSC election on November 18th both of GSC and General Female Students Council. Jo Seung-beom(Junior, Division of Business and Commerce) and Jeong Sin-gwon(Sophomore, Major of Electronic Communications Engineering) were elected to a president and a vice president and Lee Gyeong-eun(Senior, Major of Food Science and Nutrition and Yoon Su-ji(Sophomore, Division of Business and Commerce) to a president and vice president of GFSC respectively.
