When I first saw Chonnam Tribune, its sensible covers and fresh pictures remind me of professional publications and certainly aroused my curiosity. If you read it as clearly as you can, you can know Chonnam Tribune is quite different from other media around you because it is an English campus magazine. The magazine was especially impressive for me in that it had many articles that made me take a look into university students’ interests and ’s cultural attainments. I am sure that Chonnam Tribune will keep you up to date with news and events. I hope Chonnam Tribune informs us of auxiliary organizations, such as theChonnamNationalUniversityMuseum and theLanguageEducationCenter . Lastly, I wish your continuing development and good fortune. Thanks to your advisory editors and reporters for publishing this magazine.

                         Gwangju Needs More Alternatives

With the help of the article in the last issue of Chonnam Tribune, which handled the “Gwangju: A Cultural Hub City ofAsia ” Project from basic blueprint to controversial issue that has been in existence since the inception of this plan, I could think of other ways to develop this project. For example, it is required that Gwangju be equipped with enough commercial foundations because it is not a city that can earn a lot of money from just cultural enterprise, like Seoul and Busan. Accordingly, it is very encouraging for us to hear news that one of the most famous animation companies, Nick Entertainment, has tried to get in touch withGwangjuInformation & CultureIndustryCenter . As there is the saying like ‘Many a little makes a mickle’, every effort to attract as many investors as possible will help make this project thrive permanently.

   This Is a Chance!

By  An Ra, Junior, Dept. of French Education

A few days ago, my friends recommended me to read Chonnam Tribune. This was the first time to read it. At first, I was not interested in this magazine because I did not have the least interest in social issues and besides, it was written in English. Frankly speaking, it is very hard for me to read English articles. But it was very useful time for me. There is a lot of information such as our school’s programs, all sorts of activities, and so on. Before reading Chonnam Tribune, I rarely knew about this kind of information. But after reading it, I could get easily become informed about all kinds of issues around campus. Above all, the best thing is, I could read every facet of CNU as well as every affair of selected schoolfellows. When I look back at myself after reading it, it seems that I could step up to my friends and school. I felt proud of myself. This is a chance to study English, as well as take a look around me. What a good job Chonnam Tribune has done! From now on, I shall be a passionate Chonnam Tribune fan.
