On June 8, Chonnam National University (CNU) will commemorate the 70th anniversary of its founding with a celebration ceremony at the University Auditorium, Minjumaru. On the anniversary, CNU will announce a brief report about its current state of development and declare a vision for the future of the university. Valuable awards will also be bestowed to CNU graduates, faculty and staff members, including the “Hugwang Academic Award,” the “Yongbong Academic Award,” the “Honorary Yongbong Grand Award,” and the “Honorable CNU Member Award.” The best and long-serving professors and staff members who have been contributing to the development of the university will also get an award at the ceremony. CNU President Jung Sungtaek and CNU Alumni Association President Cho Seong-hee, as well as a number of other people will attend the ceremony, which will be held on a metaverse platform featuring two places, Minjumaru and Yongbong Hall, through which anyone can attend.
