The presidential by-election for the 2021 General Student Council (GSC) at Chonnam National University will be held online on April 28, 2021. The Central Election Management Committee announced on April 10 that they confirmed the candidates for the President and Vice President of the 2021 GSC. The presidential candidates are Lee In-woo (Senior, School of Polymer Science and Engineering) and Park Hong-eun (Junior, Dept. of History), Lee Myeong-no (Senior, Faculty of Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences) and Gu Su-hyeon (Junior, Dept. of Family Environment and Welfare). The candidates are allowed to run both non-face-to-face and face-to-face campaigns on campus till April 27. Starting from the by-election, the voting rate for being elected as the GSC’s president needs to be over a third of the voter eligible population in accordance with the Bylaws of the GSC Presidential Election renovated early this year.
