The Chonnam National University Korean Dinosaur Research Center launched a commemorative medal featuring the “Koreanosaurus Boseongensis”, whose fossils were found in Boseong-gun in 2003, jointly with the Korea Minting Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp. (KOMSCO) and this medal was presented on September 21. This medal is the first one of the Korean Peninsula Dinosaur Series, which is the premium collection for the Cretaceous period dinosaurs that were primordially discovered in the Korean Peninsula. This series is planning to promote Korean Peninsula dinosaurs, and “Haenamichnus Uhangriensis” and “Koreaceratops Hwaseongensis” medals will be gradually released. The Koreanosaurus Boseongensis medal is a leading-edge product whereby a three-dimensional golden dinosaur egg medal is connected to the outer ring background medal, and enables people to have the experience of discovering a dinosaur fossil by opening a golden dinosaur egg. It has two sorts of material, silver and nickel, and it is designed based on the dinosaur egg and footprint that were discovered in the Korean Peninsula. The medal was introduced to various journals and KOMSCO presold it from September 21 to October 8 by order of arrival.
