The final two candidates for the 21st president of Chonnam National University were selected yesterday. Jung Sungtaek (College of Medical Science) was chosen as the first candidate and Kim Youngman (School of Material Science and Engineering) took the second place. The 21st presidential elections were held on September 23. As no candidate won an absolute majority in the first round held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., a runoff was held between the top two candidates, Jung Sungtaek and Kim Youngman, from 15 p.m. to 19 p.m. on the same day. Finally, Jung Sungtaek and Kim Youngman were selected as the top and second candidates, taking 704 votes and 662 votes respectively.
