전남대, 첨단학과 신설

    Chonnam National University (CNU) will establish six high-tech departments and increase the admissions quota in 2021 by 310 students. On April 17, CNU announced that its 2021 academic year admission plans have been approved by the Ministry of Education. On Gwangju Campus, there will be the School of Artificial Intelligence, the Department of Intelligent Mobility Convergence, and the Department of Big Data Convergence will also be implemented. Yeosu Campus will also set up a School of Healthcare and Medical Engineering, the Department of Petrochemical Materials Engineering, and the Department of Smart Fisheries Resource Management. CNU President Jeong Byung-seok said, "Establishing new schools and departments related to advanced technologies is the result of the efforts to create a future-oriented academic development for several years, such as introducing interdisciplinary majors and establishing the College of AI Convergence." He added, “When it comes to Yeosu Campus, the participation and cooperation of local communities contributed to this achievement, which is also expected to revitalize the communities and boost economic development.”
