Chonnam National University (CNU) established its Yeosu University-Industry Convergence Campus (YUICC) on September 24. The new campus is located in Yeosu National Industrial Complex area for active communication among industries and students. About 200 students from five departments related to petrochemistry and plant sectors on Yeosu campus will complete regular degree courses on the campus. By operating the degree program, YUICC will foster advanced technical talent. President Jeong Byung-seok mentioned at the opening ceremony of the campus, “CNU just took a step forward to take on another challenge. YUICC will establish a virtuous cycle of the industry being supported by the campus and students landing jobs in the industry.” Professor Mun Bong-ho, the head of Yeosu University-Industry Convergence Complex Development Agency said, “Since students and the companies share the space together, it is easier for students to gain experience of industry field training in companies at the industrial complex area. We also provide practical classes including project or business labs for them.”
