Last August, controversy continued over a nominee for Justice Minister Cho Kuk’s corruption allegations surrounding his family, including his daughter’s college entrance and scholarship awards. Personal morality and ethics are more important than professional abilities and policies for cabinet members and politicians. I would not believe their ability to implement policies righteously if they were involved in problems with corruption. Only their corruption allegations could affect approval rating to their policies and even the credibility of the government. Therefore, I think it should be the top priority to verify the personal corruption problems or backgrounds of nominees for top government positions when checking their abilities and policies for the positions.
