Starting with Uzbekistan Day on April 18, the Global Education Center (GEC) has organized special events for the 2019 International Culture Day to introduce foreign students' countries and their cultures to Yeosu campus. On April 18, participants who attended the Uzbekistan Day event had a chance to understand the country’s culture and history with diverse programs such as performances and traditional dances. “Especially taking pictures wearing Uzbek traditional costumes in a special area designated for photos was very popular,” said Lee Myung-hee, a manager of GEC. Finland Day was held on May 14 and gained popularity for special decorations to represent aurora by using digital holographic devices. This program aims to strengthen the global capabilities of university members through a broader understanding of world culture, thereby laying the foundation for the leap to become an international campus. The program schedule is as follows: Vietnam Day at the end of May, America and India in June, Sri Lanka and Africa in September, Mongolia and Kazakhstan in October, Pakistan and Bangladesh in November.
