전남대, 글로벌 교육원 현판식 개최

    Chonnam National University established the Global Education Center (GEC) on Yeosu campus on February 1 in order to provide a better learning environment for international and local students. The center aims to enhance the Korean and foreign language abilities of students, provide settlement support to international students and operate general education-related programs on Yeosu campus. Since new international students are spending their first year on Yeosu campus, the GEC offered orientation for international students with the help of the CNU International Supporters and has run the Intensive Korean Language Training Course which 140 foreign students are taking. There are 12 different courses and classes are separated according to academic achievement. During the signboard hanging ceremony on February 20, Jeong Byung-seok, the president of CNU showed his expectation of the GEC, saying “I hope the GEC can be the start to lead CNU to become a global campus.” The GEC is now planning to launch various language and cultural programs such as a language exchange program.
