The election for the 2019 General Student Council (GSC) will take place on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The Chonnam Tribune asked students for their hopes for the next GSC. – Ed.

Lim Jun-sub (Junior, Dept. of Environmental and Energy Engineering)
As a member of the student council in the College of Engineering, I think the current GSC has conducted many activities to share ideas about on-campus problems with students and tried to guarantee students’ welfare. The joint inauguration ceremony of the GSC and every college’s student councils can be a good example. The next GSC presidential election is scheduled for November 20. I expect the new GSC to care about students’ needs and organize beneficial activities for them. I think GSC members should not use the organization and its status as a kind of honor or political steppingstone. They should work based on the main concerns of the students.
