전남대, 2018 국제여름학교 개강
2018 Chonnam National University International Summer Session (ISS) started on June 28, with 131 foreign students attending from 41 universities worldwide. The students attending the summer session would have the opportunity to listen to the lectures of renowned professors with various majors. 41 Korean buddies are also there to make friends with three foreign students each, so that Korean buddies help international students fully enjoy four weeks in Gwangju. Moon Ki-seok, Dean for International Affairs, stated that the ISS would provide students with opportunities to experience distinctive culture of local community, eventually promoting local culture and advantages of studying in Gwangju. One of the foreign students attending the ISS, Aedo Medina Francisca Gabriela (Psychology, Finis Terrae University, Chile), said, “I have shown interests in Korean culture since I was young, and that is why I tried my best to attend the ISS to know more about Korea.“ She added that, most importantly, she expects to attain more information about her major and various points of view by talking to many international students in this summer session. In order to help international students attend the ISS, CNU hosted a welcoming ceremony and an orientation program on June 27.
