CNU operated an international volunteering program in Laos during the winter vacation. Twelve students and one staff member of the Office of Student Affairs went to Wang Xiang, Laos to volunteer from December 20, 2017 to January 19, 2018. Student volunteers provided educational and cultural services to people in the villages of Phonsoung and Nakhe by teaching Korean, English, Music and Art to children in the villages. They also helped build a kitchen for the local education center of Phonsoung and a compost plant of Nakhe. One of the volunteers Jeon Hyun-Jeong (Senior, Dept. of Public Administration) said, “Living in the Lao village for a month gave me an experience to take a look at the life of other people and also it made me think of what is essential in our life.” CNU started the international volunteering program in 2011 and its students have been giving help to people who are in need around the world.
