International students of Chonnam National University (CNU) took a field trip to KT&G's manufacturing factory in Sintanjin and Jeonju Dream World on November 30. This program was organized by CNU’s Office of International Affairs and KT&G Sangsang Univ. 21 students from all around the world took a two-hour bus ride to the factory and toured the production line. They learned how the automation facilities and robots are working in the cigarette factory through a trip that lasted around 40 minutes with a Korean-English translator. They also had an experience of writing their own imaginations on a digital panel with their photos. Tanguy Troude (Sophomore, Exchange Sstudent, Faculty of Business Administration) mentioned about this tour, “It was quite different from a normal school trip. We visited a factory, which we were not expecting at all. It was very nice. It was a little bit short but it was meaningful.”
After the tour is over, they headed to Jeonju and visited Jeonju Dream World & Jeonju Zoo. They rode a pirate ship, Ferris wheels and a giant stride altogether. Some students expressed their feelings about the future cultural tours like today’s one. “It was really cool and very interesting. I think it is nice because I could go somewhere out of Gwangju,” said Louise Boudineau (Sophomore, Exchange student, Faculty of Business Administration). The trip was finished after the bus arrived in front of the Build-Transfer-Lease dormitory ybuildings.
