전남대 말레이시아 데이

On May 24, 2017, a group of Malaysian students held a Malaysia Day event to celebrate the cultural richness of their motherland. On the 2nd floor of the G&R Hub building, they welcomed students from different nationalities to come together under one roof and experienced a small world of Malaysia. Starting from 2pm to 5pm, there were cultural booths where participants tried on Malaysian traditional costumes and a photo booth nearby for first-hand photo shoot. The taste of Malaysian drinks and snacks pleased the visitors, including coconut jam bread and milk tea. “We brought the ingredients all the way from Malaysia,” said one volunteer at the food booth with a friendly smile. The jolly atmosphere of the event also owed up to Malaysian calligraphy tables and fun traditional games, which attracted many participants. For event goers who were interested in a trip to Malaysia, a tourism information desk was set up to provide practical traveling tips. In addition, there were cultural performances from 8pm to 10pm. To the applause of the audiences, Malaysia students performed their traditional dances with great skills. The event ended jovially with all the participants came together for pictures, signifying a community in unity.
