▲ Local students and CNU students volunteering in Laos

CNU students had the opportunity to volunteer abroad through a short-term volunteer and education program hosted by the Office of Student Affairs at the university. In Laos Wang Xiang from December 23, 2016 to January 22, 2017, 14 students provided educational services such as the teaching of English, Korean and computer studies to 150 local students during four weeks. In addition, they provided cultural experiences in ways such as putting on movies and plays for local students. Choi Su-in (Senior, Dept. of English Education), a participant in the international volunteer program said, “This volunteering program was a turning point in my life. Initially, I applied for this program with no definite thoughts, but the days in Laos were the time that I will never forget. I really hope other students do not miss such a good opportunity and join this program.” CNU has run the international volunteering program since 2011 to help local residents of Laos to gain Korean cultural experience and live in better circumstances.
