▲ International students participated in the orientation for them in Damyang on March 3

On March 3 and 4, CNU held an orientation for new international students in Damyang and it ended with complimentary reviews. This was the first time to combine undergraduate and graduate students’ orientations over two days. The event was well attended by 160 newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students, and was assisted by staff members from the Office of International Affairs and the CNU International Student Supporter group. Existing international existing students also volunteered to share their experiences at CNU and provide useful tips about Korean culture at the orientation. New international students were offered an intensive yet enjoyable program with diverse activities. Some of most informative presentations were a Buk-gu police officer’s crime prevention class, the introduction of Gwangju International Center’s inclusive programs, and a talk about the benefits of international students’ insurance. Inomova Odinakhon (Freshmen, Faculty of Economics) from Uzbekistan said, “It was a great experience to have an orientation with other international students. Through the orientation, I could learn many things about CNU.”
