The next CNU’s presidential candidates have been chosen as the result of the 20th CNU Presidential Election. The final two candidates are Chung Byung-seok (Law School) and Jung Sung-chang (Faculty of Business Administration). The process for the presidential election began with the debates of five registered candidates from October 13 to 17 on three campuses. The next step was a policy evaluation session which was on October 20 on Yongbong campus. 166 randomly chosen professors, 19 staff members, 3 assistants, and 3 students voted after the candidates’ presentations about their policies. Two candidates with the fewest votes were eliminated. The last step was a field evaluation conducted by randomly selected members out of the members who did not participate in the policy evaluation on October 25. The members of the group were authorized to vote for one candidate, and the result was added with the points they got from the policy evaluation session. The final candidates turned out to be Chung Byeong-seok and Jung Sung-chang, taking 1,287 votes and 1,238 votes respectively. The two final candidates will be recommended to the Ministry of Education on November 18.
