On November 3, the annual CNU International Day was held at Bongji Fountain from 12:00 to 16:00. Approximately 1,500 guests attended and ate food from 18 countries. Guests participated in various outdoor activities including Korean traditional games. Visitors were enchanted with mouthwatering dishes from many countries including Brazil and Rwanda. Valentin Tsoy (M.A. Student, Graduate School of Business) from Uzbekistan expressed his enthusiasm saying “I have tried Vietnamese, Indian, and Russian food but the best one is of course Uzbek food. I think this is a great event to meet new people and try delicious food. I really like this international atmosphere we have here!” A Vietnamese food stand member Le Ha (Ph.D. Student, Department of Mechanical Engineering) also shared his experiences. “Our team made Vietnamese signature spring rolls or ’nem’, Areca flower sweet soup and Vietnamese sweet potato cake. I was impressed with the organization of this event. On one short pathway I can enjoy food from all around the world. I hope one day we can hold an event like this in my country. I believe it will attract many people.” Festival goers were also fascinated by Korean traditional games, learning Korean calligraphy, seeing a flea market, and Korean traditional arts and crafts. The combination of diverse international cuisines and dynamic outdoor activities gave an unforgettable memory to many participants on the 2016 International Day.
