서울의 청년수당

Seoul’s youth allowance, a monthly subsidy of 500,000 won for six months is helpful for unemployed young people at the end of their rope. The Seoul government has tried to do this project with 9 billion won and it is about only 0.45 percent of the government’s budget for creating youth jobs. However, the government disapproved the project and has recently announced to implement jobseeker’s allowance instead. I think it is the positive result of the youth allowance in Seoul. The policy like Seoul’s has already been done in France. La Garantie Jeunes (Youth Guarantee) started with 10,000 young people in 2014, and the French government plans to expand this program to 50,000 youth. I hope this system will be implemented for all unemployed youth in the country.
