At this ceremony, a total of 1,899 graduates received their degrees: 1,360 Bachelor’s, 403 Master’s, and 130 Doctoral degrees. Jeong In-chae, the president of New Millennium Construction, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering degree for his contribution to the state economy and the development of our region through engaging in the business for 50 years. Five Honorary Bachelors, who did not graduate because they participated in the May 18 Democratization Movement, also received their diplomas. “As the intellectuals of the era, it is you, CNU alumni’s duty to keep our society healthy,” CNU President Jee Byung-moon stated in the farewell speech. He emphasized that the alumni should not just seek self-convenience but to work for recovering the spirit of community. “Consistent effort to change the world and progressive ideas are very much needed in the 21th century,” he added. All alumni enjoyed the graduation ceremony with their families and friends, taking celebration photos around the campus.
