On October 29th, international and Korean students enjoyed a festival to celebrate the 4th anniversary of CNU International Day. About 1,500 students and local residents were highly interested in the International Day Festival. Around Bongji, foreign students from 17 countries hosted 20 booths where they made and sold their own traditional cuisines. At traditional Korean culture booths, foreign students had a chance to make a special memory, such as making a Korean traditional fan, learning Korean calligraphy and wearing hanbok, traditional Korean clothes. Volkova Alexandria, a Russian student invited by the Korean Government said, “I am really enjoying making a Korean traditional fan. I tried a cup of sangria from Uruguay and it was amazing.” This year, international students from Mokpo University, Chodang University and Sunchon University also participated in this international event. Phan Tran ThuyDuy (Exchange Student, Dept. of Economics at Sunchon University) from Vietnam said, “It is a new experience for me, making and sharing Vietnam’s food with other students.” Park Eun-ji, a staff of the Office of International Affairs said, “The ultimate goal of this event is that international students, citizens, CNU students and faculties understand diverse cultures and make a glowing harmony. In addition, holding this event gives students opportunities to take a step forward to the globalization of the 21th century.”
