My name is Kacper Nowak-Gocławski. I am 22 years old. I came to Kimchi Wonderland from Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. This is a place where I started to learn how to speak, walk or ride a longboard. My passion is black and white photography, mostly portraits. What is more, I love old movies with Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck or James Dean. On the other hand I admire Kim Ki-duk filmography. In free time I am hitchhiking around South Korea, because I am obsessed with travelling. I am keen on reading psychological novels, meeting new friends and learning other cultures.
Ever wanted to feel like a surfer or Michael Jackson, windblown by the speed and smile every time you go out? Don’t wait, read this article and change your life with a longboard! Longboarding, or as some call it street surfing, was discovered by Californian surfers in the 50’s. While waiting for the wind the whole day and getting more and more bored they came up with the idea of making a hybrid between a skateboard and a surfing board. What do you need to start longboarding? Just two things: a board and a good mood! Take your longboard, wear your father’s old jacket and trousers. Then put a pot on your head and your friend’s sponge on your knees to stay safe. Now you ready to rock!
If you did not run to nearest longboard shop already and you’re still reading this article, listen carefully. To learn how to ride you only need a few hours. Yes, it’s that simple. What is more, you can longboard almost all year and can ride everywhere. But why is longboarding so much fun? There are many techniques of riding: downhill – if you are brave enough to reach 60 km/h, cruising – you will not be late on any meeting, or dancing – making small steps board, turning around like Michael Jackson.

You can join one of the three Gwanju’s crews: Longboard Korea, Gwangdae or Push. Have a try and come to a square near Asia Culture Center. "I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it." – Pablo Picasso. Do not be worse than Picasso and put a little bit of heaven into your daily life. Hope to see you somewhere at CNU’s campus.
