What do you think about the government's policy, mandatory CCTV installation in kindergartens?
: We recently realized that our children are not in the safety zone from a series of child abuse cases in kindergartens. Some people might say that mandatory CCTV installation in kindergartens cannot be the fundamental solution to prevent child maltreatment and it can rather violate the human rights of teachers. However, CCTV installation is the most basic measure even if it cannot resolve all the problems of child abuse. I insist that all kindergartens should be equipped with CCTV because of the following reasons. First, CCTV provides objective evidence when child abuse happens. Second, we can prevent child maltreatment in advance. People usually will not do bad behavior in front of CCTV. Especially, if parents can watch their children and monitor the circumstance of the kindergarten in real time through a smartphone which is interworking between CCTV, they will trust kindergartens and feel relieved.
