CNU held an entrance ceremony at the Auditorium on February 28th. At the ceremony 4,641 undergraduate students and 1,695 graduate students including 139 international students were offered admission to the university. This ceremony was the first integrated entrance ceremony that has been held each college respectively on Gwangju and Yeosu campus after an eight year absence. Prior to the ceremony, a campus rock band ‘LOTUS’ and a hip-hop club ‘SU:M’ gave performances for freshmen to celebrate their entrance to CNU. Students who attended the ceremony pledged allegiance to the nation and then Kang So-hee (Freshman, Dept. of Nursing) and Lee Hyun-woo (Freshman, Dept. of Physical Education) took the oath of the university as the representative for freshmen. President Jee Byung-moon gave a congratulatory address and emphasized keeping historical awareness, self-philosophy and critical thinking as the role of intellectuals. He also suggested that students should experience fruitful and various activities in order to be a global talent and creative human.
