The closing ceremony of the first session of the 2014 CNU Freshmen Jump-in Program (English Camp) was held at Convention Hall on January 24th. The English Camp aims at increasing the global mindset of freshmen students and improving their English ability intensively before entering the university. At the ceremony, president Jee Byung-moon delivered the speech and gave the certificate to the student representative. Foreign teachers and teaching assistants also participated in this event and congratulated them for attaining the certification. Kim Sun-woo (Junior, Dept. of Fine Arts) who participated in the camp as an teaching assistant said, “The Jump-in Program is important for students who should have a global mindset, especially these days (the global era). Through this program, many freshmen feel the necessity to studying English through programs like this and many of them have enhanced their test scores actually. It is also worthwhile for me.” Park In-hwa (Freshman, Dept. of Landscape Architecture), an English camp participant, said, “I had a lot of group activities with friends and teachers in every class, so I had more exposure to various English expressions which can be applied to real-life situations. This camp was a good experience and I met memorable people before the entrance.”
