Reading the Chonnam Tribune has allowed me to gain insights of other cultures. I have found that instead of just immersing oneself to one's own culture, learning about other cultures helps us to see things in different perspectives. As an international exchange student, this newspaper has benefited me a lot, as not only is it an English newspaper, it also provides significantly relevant and interesting information to both Korean and international students. I have gotten to know my way around the campus, things such as social and global issues, finding monthly discussion groups and things that are currently happening or trending. It is also via this newspaper that I was able to experience the beauty and the uniqueness of the Korean culture, especially the Jeollanamdo region. What really amazed me the most was the fact that the Chonnam Tribune helps students to voice their opinions. Truth be told, it was due to the newspaper that I was able to get my head around CNU. It taught me that by seeing things from different points of view, one is able to learn and have new experiences and think outside of their own comfort zone. Despite the fact that I am not a person who is into reading newspapers so much, I can honestly say that it has made a huge difference in my life. Now I am one those people who is really looking forward to and excited for its next publication. I really hope that it will continue to produce even more pages than usual, because in my opinion, it has the potential to become a newspaper that supplies even more amazing and refreshing knowledge. This, I believe, would encourage more students to voice their opinions on what they think regarding certain matters. Lastly, I personally think that it would be awesome if the newspaper would be able to publish its newspaper at least every two weeks as it would be convenient for students, especially the International Students, to know what is happening around and especially within the campus.
